Enright Ridge Urban Eco-village, Inc. is a community fostering a sustainable urban neighborhood, who promote preserving the planet through social, economic and healthy lifestyles and who demonstrate urban revitalization using these principles. The Eco-village is located in an inner ring neighborhood in Cincinnati, just seven minutes from downtown. It is converting an existing neighborhood into a sustainable neighborhood. It has, among other things: A core group of people supporting each other in living sustainably. Houses are reasonably priced. Most houses are insulated, with double pane windows and other energy efficiency measures in the homes. Within walking distance to three city buses. Has rehabbed 5 houses and an apartment building using energy efficient measures, and sold them to homeowners. Has 82% home ownership. Working on a bicyle coop. Walking trails. A 16 acre nature center in its boundaries. An urban Community Supported Agriculture project (CSA) where subscribers put up money that is used to hire a farmer, the farming is done in people's backyards and vacant lots, and subscribers receive fresh, organic vegetables, herbs and fruit at least 26 weeks out of the year.
